A downloadable game for Windows

The Hole in the walls

The game is a basic concept with many different level combinations. walls would come from all different directions at all Different speeds, It will be a third person game, with many different things that the play can do, such as walk, crouch, jump and ragdoll. The game will start simple and as it goes on walls will be faster, and even maybe come from behind, left and right, maybe at the same time. I would need models such as the map (A box with a platform (For the player to stand on), voice lines, fake crowds, water effects and maybe other things. For code I would need an advanced movement script for the player, the movement for the cubes and hit detection. I would also need the game to choose a random name from a data bank and a random player mode.

  • What is the product or Specialism?

My Specialism Would Be Programming

  • What could you create?

The game is a basic concept with many different level combinations. walls would come from all different directions at all Different speeds, It will be a third person game, with many different things that the play can do, such as walk, crouch, jump and ragdoll. The game will start simple and as it goes on walls will be faster, and even maybe come from behind, left and right, maybe at the same time.

  • What could you include?
    1. I would need a mix of three main colours, Red, blue and white.
    2. Walk
    3. Crouch
    4. Jump
    5. Ragdoll.
    6. Moving walls
    7. Crowds (Cheering)
    8. Main levels
  • What style?

The style will be based upon the 2010 gameshow "Total Wipeout" And "Hole In The Wall".

  • What Colours?

I would need a mix of three main colours, Red, blue and white.

  • What mechanics?
    1. Run Mechanic
    2. Jump Mechanic
    3. Walk Mechanic
    4. Ragdoll Mechanic
    5. Other Basic Movement Systems Mechanics
    6. Moving Walls (With Holes)
    7. DeadZone (EG Collision When Falling Off Map)
    8. Crowd Cheer Mechanic When Win Level
    9. Crowd Boo Mechanic When Lose Level
    10. Box Collisions
    11. Voicelines

I would need a mix of three main colours, Red, blue and white, with a collections of animations and mechanics such as a Walk mechanic, a Crouch mechanic, a Jump mechanic, a Ragdoll mechanic. The walls would move and we would have the crowd either cheering or booing depending on if you complete the level or lose the level.

The style will be based upon the 2010 gameshow "Total Wipeout" And "Hole In The Wall". Total Wipeout is a game where Twenty contestants take on an extreme obstacle course in Argentina as they put their strength, balance and bravery to the test in the hope of winning 10,000 pounds. Hole in the wall is a similar sort of gameshow in which two teams of celebrities attempt to force themselves through holes in a moving wall to win a large amount of money. This is why all the colours are based in the two classic gameshows (Red, White and Blue) and that the colours are used in the same sorta way.

The Mechanics needed are pretty simple with the hardest Mechanics parts being the animations, which are not that difficult to do. The run, jump and walk Mechanics would all be needed as well as the basic movement, and we also need ragdoll mechanic as well. For the walls there would be no collision needed tat affects gameplay so long as the walls are physical and can push the player. Lastly we need the sounds for the game such as crowd cheering and booing depending on outcomes of the player as dictated by the collision boxes from if the player falls off and loses the game or if the player wins the game by not falling off. Music is undecided.

What Are The Main Gameshow Inspirations?

What is hole in the wall?

  • Hole in the Wall is a British game show that aired on BBC One in the United Kingdom. It also occasionally aired repeats of this show on CBBC until April 2014. This game was an adaptation of the Japanese game Brain Wall (also known as "Human Tetris") in which players must contort themselves to fit through cutout holes of varying shapes in a large polystyrene wall moving towards them as they stand in front of a swimming pool. Each week, two teams of television personalities competed for £10,000 in prize money to be donated to their chosen charity.

What is Total Wipeout Total Wipeout is a British game show, hosted by Richard Hammond and Amanda Byram, which first aired on the BBC on 3 January 2009. In each episode, contestants competed in a series of challenges in an attempt to win £10,000. These challenges were based in large pools of water or mud and generally involved large assault courses that contestants had to cross. These were gradually eliminated over four rounds until one contestant remained, who won a £10,000 cash prize and a trophy.
